🇺🇸 🇦🇪 [23 September 2024] US and UAE reaffirm cooperation on AI: The US and United Arab Emirates have released a statement reaffirming their shared intention to promote cooperation in AI and related technologies. The US and UAE intend to closely collaborate to: (1) advance safe, secure and trustworthy AI; (2) align regulatory frameworks to strengthen innovation ecosystems; (3) promote ethical AI research and development; (4) broaden and deepen cooperation in AI protection and cybersecurity; (5) facilitate opportunities for trusted trade and investment; (6) talent development and exchange; (7) promote clean energy for the AI future; and (8) support AI for sustainable development in developing countries. The US and UAE will develop a government-to-government memorandum of understanding to build upon the above goals.
🇨🇴 🇨🇳 [17 September 2024] Colombia and China sign memorandum of understanding on ICT cooperation: Colombia and China have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to enhance cooperation in the Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) sector, including AI. The MOU aims to facilitate the exchange of good practices, new technologies, and to support digital transformation efforts across various sectors including industry, education, and health. The agreement also builds on existing Chinese investments in Colombian infrastructure and the development of 4G networks by Chinese companies.
