🇺🇸 [30 April 2025] Trump officials plan changes to Biden's AI chip export rule: It is reported that according to internal sources, the Trump administration is working on changes to a Biden-era 'Framework for Artificial Intelligence Diffusion' rule which is set to go into effect on 15 May 2025 to limit global access to AI chips under a three-tiered system. The sources suggest that the administrarion is planning to remove the tiered system, and replacing it with a global licensing regime with government-to-government agreements to regulate access to US AI chips (potentially as a negotiating tool in trade talks). The plans are still under discussion and subject to change.

🇮🇩 [29 April 2025] OJK launches AI governance guidelines for Indonesian banks: Indonesia's Financial Services Authority (OJK) has launched AI Governance Guidelines to guide Indonesian banks on the development and implementation of responsible AI. These guidelines complement existing OJK policies on digital transformation.
