🇺🇸 [4 June 2026] Great American AI Act introduced: House of Representatives members Lori Trahan (D-MA) and Jay Obernolte (R-CA) have released a bipartisan discussion draft of the Great American AI Act, aiming to establish a national standard to prevent a patchwork of state laws, including a provision that would override state regulations on AI development for three years. It also mandates third-party audits to ensure AI companies comply with plans addressing catastrophic risks posed by their models. The lawmakers emphasize the necessity of a unified approach to maintain the US’ competitive edge in the global AI market.
🇺🇸 [4 June 2026] US National Security Agency using Anthropic’s Mythos for cyber attacks: The National Security Agency (NSA) has reportedly begun preparations to utilize Anthropic’s AI model, Mythos, for cyber operations, with approximately six engineers from Anthropic deployed to assist the agency in leveraging this frontier cybersecurity AI model, according to a Financial Times report citing anonymous sources.
🇺🇸 [4 June 2026] Senator Warren presses Treasury on financial sector security amid AI risks: Senator Elizabeth Warren, Ranking Member of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee, has urged in a letter to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to enhance the cybersecurity resilience of the financial sector due to increasing risks from AI-enabled cyberattacks.
🇨🇦 [4 June 2026] Canada launches ‘AI for All’ national AI strategy: The Prime Minister of Canada has launched ‘AI for All,’ a national AI strategy aimed at fostering responsible AI adoption over the next five years, with targets of $200 billion in economic growth, the creation of 250,000 AI-related jobs, and increasing AI adoption from 12% to 60% by 2034.

🇺🇸 [2 June 2026] President Trump signs executive order on promoting advanced AI innovation and security: President Trump has signed Executive Order ‘Promoting Advanced Artificial Intelligence Innovation and Security’, establishing federal policy to advance AI innovation and strengthen cybersecurity defences through voluntary collaboration with the private sector.

🇮🇳 [5 June 2026] India’s top court proposes AI guardrails for justice system: The Supreme Court of India has released draft regulations titled ‘Regulations for Use of AI (AI) in Courts, 2026,’ outlining the permissible and prohibited uses of AI within the judiciary, emphasizing that AI can assist in legal research, translation, transcription, case management, and administrative functions but must not replace human judgment.
🇮🇩 [5 June 2026] Indonesia updates e-commerce rules, adds AI and ride-hailing provisions: Indonesia has finalized a new e-commerce regulation aimed at strengthening small businesses and consumer protection, as announced by Trade Minister Budi Santoso. The regulation also mandates platforms to establish complaint-handling and dispute-resolution mechanisms and includes provisions for the use of AI in product promotion and marketing activities.

🇹🇷 [5 June 2026] Turkish Competition Authority investigates Meta’s AI practices on WhatsApp: The Turkish Competition Authority has initiated an investigation into Meta Platforms, Inc., Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, WhatsApp LLC, and Meta Platforms Istanbul Bilisim Hizmetleri Ltd. The probe aims to determine whether Meta violated Article 6 of Law No. 4054 on the Protection of Competition by integrating its Meta AI service into WhatsApp and potentially restricting third-party AI providers from offering services through the platform.
